This is a high-profile, hands-on role that sits at the heart of the action. You’ll lead a cross-functional team, manage relationships with governing bodies and technical officials, and oversee every aspect of the competition’s success — all while helping to create a legacy for the sport in Scotland and beyond.
Job Summary:
As Sport Competition Manager – Judo, you will lead the strategic and operational delivery of the Judo competition for Glasgow 2026, ensuring full compliance with International Judo Federation regulations and the expectations of Commonwealth Sport. A key part of your role will involve supporting the appointment, training, and development of National Technical Officials, in collaboration with Judo Scotland. You will also oversee the recruitment and training of a dedicated volunteer team to support the sport's delivery. Additionally, you will contribute to operational workshops, site visits, sport publications, and readiness programmes, while leading your own team, including the Sport Coordinator and Technical Operations Manager(s), to ensure peak delivery during the Games.
Post-Games, you’ll support reporting and legacy outputs to support the continued growth of the sport and ensure future Organising Committees benefit from the knowledge gained in Glasgow.
