The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Sport Competition Manager – Artistic Gymnastics to join our Sport team at Glasgow 2026. This is your chance to lead the delivery of one of the Games’ most iconic sports, and to help create an inspiring competition experience for athletes, officials, and spectators from across the Commonwealth.

As Sport Competition Manager – Artistic Gymnastics, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of planning and delivery – from competition schedules and venue design to technical operations and workforce planning. Working in close partnership with the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), British Gymnastics, Scottish Gymnastics, and Commonwealth Sport, you’ll ensure every aspect of the event meets the highest international standards.

This role is central to a complex and collaborative delivery model. You’ll lead a small internal team, coordinate with Functional Areas including Venue Operations, Logistics, Technology, and Workforce, and ensure smooth integration of Artistic Gymnastics into the overall Games plan. You’ll be the lead liaison for FIG and other key partners, overseeing operational readiness, legacy planning, and the creation of a world-class athlete and spectator experience.

Job Summary:

As Sport Competition Manager – Artistic Gymnastics, you will oversee all strategic and operational planning for the competition, ensuring full compliance with FIG rules, Commonwealth Sport protocols, and the vision of Glasgow 2026.

You will be responsible for developing and managing the sport-specific delivery plan, covering every element from Field of Play and overlay requirements to athlete services, training venues, and technical systems. You’ll contribute to Games-wide integration, coordinate the development of sport manuals and bulletins, and ensure competition readiness through the Detailed Competition and Activity Schedule (DCAS).

Your role will also include leading on venue design, scheduling, and delivery, managing key relationships with FIG and national bodies, supporting the recruitment and training of Technical Officials, and overseeing a volunteer team to support operations. You will line-manage internal staff, including Sport Coordinators and Technical Operations Managers, and contribute to knowledge transfer and legacy development to benefit future Games organisers.

Key Skills and Experience:

You will bring significant experience delivering national or international Artistic Gymnastics competitions, with expert knowledge of FIG regulations, event formats, and technical standards. A background in multi-sport Games or major international events is essential, along with strong operational planning, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional coordination skills.

You’ll be an effective leader, comfortable managing teams and volunteers in a fast-paced environment, and able to work collaboratively with Functional Areas and delivery partners. Your ability to navigate complex logistics, track milestones, manage risks, and ensure seamless delivery will be key to success.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is proficiency in Microsoft Office and competition-specific management systems. Experience in the delivery of multi-sport Games is desirable, as is familiarity with Games-time scheduling, overlay integration, and Glasgow 2026’s values and strategic priorities.
