The Role
We have a unique and exciting opportunity available to join the team as a Workforce Manager! This role will place you at the heart of the action, working alongside experts to deliver a global event that sets the new standard for major sporting celebrations. You’ll gain hands-on experience and contribute to creating a world-class Games.
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Workforce Manager to support the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of workforce operations for Glasgow 2026. This will be integral in ensuring effective workforce planning and operational readiness, contributing to an exceptional experience for participants, spectators, workforce, volunteers, and stakeholders.
Reporting to the Senior Workforce Manager, the Workforce Manager will play a key role in the development and implementation of the volunteering programme and workforce planning across the Organising Company (OC), Event Delivery Partners and key Games-wide suppliers. The postholder will also lead a team responsible for delivering the operational requirements of the uniform and workforce training workstreams.

Job Summary:
As Workforce Manager, you will play a central role in planning and delivering an exceptional workforce experience across all Games functions, ensuring our staff, volunteers, contractors, and partners are trained, supported, and Games-ready. You will lead key operational workstreams including uniform distribution, workforce systems, and the delivery of engaging training and recognition programmes.
This is a pivotal opportunity to work cross-functionally across departments, partners, and suppliers—bringing people together, solving complex challenges, and delivering outstanding operational outcomes for a truly global event.
Key Skills and Experience:
Essential
- Proven experience in the planning and delivery of workforce management for a multi-discipline or multi-venue major global sporting event.
- Experience with Workforce Games Management Systems and/or Volunteer Application Systems and processes.
- Strong reporting and data analytical skills.
- Demonstrate strong operational planning skills.
- Proven knowledge and experience using computer software programmes including the Microsoft packages and project management programs.
- Demonstrable ability to build trusted relationships with internal and external partners.
- Able to maintain a high level of attention to detail.
- Demonstrates an ability to develop clear project plans and timelines.
Desirable
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with project management processes and tools in the context of a major event.
- Proficient in working within cross-functional teams to develop, implement and manage systems and infrastructure
- Experience in developing and/or delivering training materials.
- Experience in understanding and managing key workforce challenges at a large-scale event
