The Role
We have a unique and exciting opportunity available to join the team as a Mascot Performer/Chaperone. The Mascot will be one of the most visible and beloved symbols of the Games — and we’re looking for talented, energetic Mascot Performers to bring it to life! This is a dual role, and you will also be trained as a Mascot Chaperone.
As a Mascot Performer, you’ll embody the character and personality of the Glasgow 2026 Mascot at live events, fan zones, schools, community activations, and across key moments during the Games.
You’ll play a key role in engaging fans of all ages, spreading excitement, and creating memorable, joyful experiences — all without saying a single word.
This is a unique opportunity to bring smiles, spark imagination, and be the friendly face (and paws, flippers, or feathers!) of one of the world’s biggest sporting events.
As Mascot Chaperone you’ll be the vital support behind the scenes — ensuring each mascot performance is delivered safely, smoothly, and successfully.
You’ll accompany the Mascot Performer at appearances, acting as their eyes, ears, and voice. From guiding them safely through crowds to managing audience interaction and providing breaks, your role will ensure every mascot moment is full of fun and free from fuss.
This is an opportunity to be at the heart of a world-class event, working with passionate professionals and visionary leaders who are committed to showcasing Scotland on the international stage as well as delivering excellence for athletes and local communities through your blend of creativity, precision and innovation to deliver a digital experience worthy of the Games.
Job Summary:
As a Mascot Performer, you will wear a full costume to represent the Glasgow 2026 Mascot character at appearances throughout the lead-up to and during the Games.
You’ll work as part of a team to deliver high-energy, playful performances and interact safely and professionally with fans, families, and stakeholders.
You will perform in the official Glasgow 2026 Mascot costume at live and recorded events. We are looking for someone who can deliver playful, energetic, and character-appropriate performances — from waving and dancing to miming and high-fiving. The ideal candidate should be skilled at interacting with children, families, spectators, athletes, and VIPs in a professional, inclusive, and friendly manner.
As Mascot Chaperone, you’ll work closely with the Mascot Performer to support and protect both the character and the person inside the costume. You’ll be responsible for safety, logistics, audience interaction, and practical support throughout each appearance.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role that will bring the Glasgow 2026 Mascot to life. This is your chance to bring the energy of Glasgow to a global audience through exceptional performance!
Key Skills and Experience:
To succeed in this role, you’ll have experience in performance, physical theatre, dance, puppetry, clowning, or similar live, physical roles. You will also be comfortable performing in a full-body costume with restricted visibility and mobility.
You should be confident with high levels of energy, stamina, and resilience to perform multiple times throughout a day and be able to convey emotions, humour, and character through expressive body movement without speaking.
Our ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with the public and working in a team, and be comfortable working in crowded, noisy environments and adapt quickly to changing scenarios.
To succeed, you will also need to be able to remain calm, focused, and professional while supporting performers and managing live interactions.
A valid UK Driving Licence is required for this role.
