The Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Glasgow 2026 team as Technical Officials Manager — a key role in shaping the delivery of fair, world-class sporting competition across all disciplines.
Technical Officials play a vital part in the integrity of the Games — enforcing the rules, making key decisions, and ensuring each competition runs to the highest standards. From selection and onboarding to uniform distribution and Games-time support, you'll be the go-to person for all things Technical Officials.
You’ll work closely with International Federations, National Governing Bodies, Competition Managers and teams across the Organising Committee to plan, coordinate, and deliver everything our officials need to perform at their best. If you're highly organised, people-focused and thrive in complex, fast-paced environments — this role could be your perfect match.
Job Summary:
As Technical Officials Manager, you’ll be responsible for planning and delivering all aspects of the Technical Officials programme — supporting both International (ITOs) and National Technical Officials (NTOs) from initial liaison to Games-time operations.
You’ll lead on coordination with federations, oversee operational logistics like travel, uniforms and accreditation, and work closely with Sport and Venue teams to ensure seamless delivery of services at competition time. You’ll also manage budget planning, documentation and stakeholder communications throughout the lifecycle of the Games.
Key Skills and Experience:
As Technical Officials Manager, you’ll report to the Senior Sport Manager and work as part of the wider Sport team at Glasgow 2026. You’ll be responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of all services related to Technical Officials, working closely with International Federations, National Governing Bodies, Competition Managers and internal Functional Areas across the Organising Committee.
We’re looking for someone with proven experience in sport competition delivery or Technical Officials coordination, ideally within a major multi-sport event environment. You’ll bring a clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of International and National Technical Officials and can build strong working relationships with key external partners such as federations and governing bodies.
You’ll be confident managing operational logistics, including travel, accommodation, uniform distribution, accreditation, per diem allocation, and Games-time communication. Experience managing large group movements or coordinating complex planning schedules in a high-pressure setting will be key to your success. You’ll also bring excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work across multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
We’re especially interested in candidates with prior experience working directly with Technical Officials at international sporting events, as well as familiarity with Functional Areas such as Accreditation, Workforce, Transport, and Accommodation. An understanding of Commonwealth Games standards and protocols is desirable, along with a collaborative mindset and a passion for delivering high-quality sport on a global stage.
