The Role  

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Glasgow 2026 Sport team as Technical Operations Manager – Artistic Gymnastics, supporting the delivery of one of the most technically complex and precision-driven sports on the Commonwealth Games programme. 

Working closely with the Sport Competition Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supporting the delivery of all technical aspects of Artistic Gymnastics competition at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. You will ensure full compliance with World Gymnastics rules and regulations, helping to create a safe, fair, and high-quality competition environment for athletes, team officials, and technical officials.  

This is a highly collaborative role that operates across sport, venue, and Games-wide delivery functions. You will act as a key link between the Sport team, internal Functional Areas, and external partners, translating sport-specific technical requirements into practical, operational solutions across competition, training, and warm-up environments. As the Games approach, the role will become increasingly hands-on and operational, requiring flexibility, resilience, and a calm, solutions-focused approach. 

Job Summary:  

As Technical Operations Manager – Artistic Gymnastics, you will support the end-to-end planning, integration, and delivery of all technical competition elements for Artistic Gymnastics at the Commonwealth Games Glasgow 2026. Working in partnership with the Sport Competition Manager, you will help ensure the competition is organised and delivered in line with World Gymnastics rules, standards, and technical requirements. 

You will collaborate closely with Games-wide Functional Areas to embed sport-specific technical requirements into venue planning, Field of Play delivery, equipment provision, athlete services, workforce planning, and Games-time operations. Acting as a key technical point of contact, you will support effective communication and coordination with World Gymnastics, British Gymnastics, Scottish Gymnastics, and appointed Technical Delegates to ensure alignment, issue resolution, and competition readiness. 

As the Games approach, you will support testing and readiness programmes, milestone planning, reporting, and Games-time delivery, as well as contributing to post-Games Transfer of Knowledge documentation. The role will evolve throughout the lifecycle of the Organising Company and requires a flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends in the lead-up to and during Games Time. 

Key Skills and Experience:  

We’re looking for someone with experience working within a sport competition environment, ideally within Artistic Gymnastics, who brings a strong understanding of International Federation rules, regulations, and technical competition standards. 

You will have experience working with National and/or International Sport Federations and be confident managing relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including technical delegates, officials, and delivery partners. Experience contributing to venue planning, Field of Play delivery, training and warm-up environments, and sport-specific operational planning will be important for success in this role. 

Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver high-quality outcomes under pressure are essential. You’ll be an effective communicator, comfortable working in a multicultural environment, and confident supporting the recruitment, training, and management of sport-specific staff and volunteers. Experience of major sporting events, multi-sport Games environments, Para sport, or the Commonwealth Games would be highly beneficial.

Salary: Starting salary is from £30,000. Salary offered will be based on demonstrated skills and experience related to this role.
