WELCOME TO THE SHOW

The Glasgow 2026 Ceremonies will be a Clyde-Built experience for the world, with the story of the city at its heart.

One of the most magic things about Ceremonies is the element of surprise. What we can say is that they will be bold, unmistakably Glasgow and unlike anything the Commonwealth Games has produced before.

The Opening Ceremony will be staged in The Hydro on 23 July 2026. It will be the opening act for 11 days of world-class sporting celebration bringing the audience closer to the action in an immersive, electric and unmissable moment.

Glasgow 2026 is inviting 700 volunteers to step into the Opening Ceremony and help bring it to life. From dance and theatre to large-scale community moments, there are roles for people of all backgrounds, no previous experience required.
