Getting Around Town
Glasgow 2026 is set to be an unforgettable celebration of world-class sport, culture and community spirit. With thousands of athletes, spectators and visitors travelling across the city between 23 July and 2 August, planning ahead will help everyone enjoy a smooth, safe and brilliant Games.
The Games has been designed with a lighter, more flexible footprint, using existing venues and well-connected transport routes. This means the city will remain open and moving, with minimal disruption to daily life.
Most people will be able to travel as normal, but some areas will be busier at peak times, especially around competition venues and during session changeovers. The main transport hubs in the city centre are likely to be busier during the Games, particularly before and after sessions. For detailed guidance visit our venue and live site pages.
Glasgow is a well‑connected city with excellent public transport links. During the Games, walking, cycling and public transport will be the easiest ways to get around. Train, subway and bus services will continue to operate as normal, with some services expected to be busier at peak times. Where temporary changes are required, these will be clearly signposted and supported by alternative options.
