City Beneficiaries

Half of the funding from the Commonwealth Sport Foundation will be directed to three city partners: Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, Scottish Sports Futures, and Team Scotland Youth Trust. Together, these organisations support children and young people through healthcare, sport, wellbeing and personal development. By investing in these local partners, the programme helps ensure that hosting the Games delivers lasting social and community benefits, strengthening opportunities for young people across Glasgow and reinforcing the positive legacy of the event for the city.

Impact throughout the Commonwealth

The remaining 50% of funds raised will support international sport-for-development programmes, including initiatives such as:

  • Para sport and disability inclusion programmes

  • Youth leadership and participation projects

  • Community-based sport initiatives

One example is GAPS, which works to remove barriers for Para athletes across Africa, the Caribbean, the Pacific and beyond. By improving access to training, equipment, funding and competition pathways, GAPS helps talented athletes reach elite levels of sport. In doing so, it not only supports individual success on the world stage but also inspires future generations of disabled athletes and strengthens inclusive sport systems in underrepresented regions.
