Masse, who has won three gold medals, among nine honours across the last two Games, is the defending 50m Backstroke champion from Birmingham 2022, having previously won the 100m and 200m Backstroke events at Gold Coast 2018.

She will be joined by Paris 2024 team-mates Ella Jansen, Sophie Angus and Julie Brousseau, as well as rising stars Madison Kryger and Delia Lloyd in the women’s roster.

“It’s a beautiful opportunity to represent Canada and be amongst all the other Commonwealth countries,” said Masse.

“It’s always such a great Games experience when it comes to being in a village and being among so many different athletes and learning to prioritise your performance, but also enjoy it as well.”

Liendo made his Commonwealth debut at Birmingham 2022, where he attained four podium finishes, including a memorable victory in the 100m Butterfly.

He has since gone on to claim silver at Paris 2024 and will be joined in Glasgow by his Olympic team-mate Lorne Wigginton. Oliver Dawson, Antonie Sauve, Benjamin Loewen and Ben Winterborn complete the men’s line-up.

“Racing there (at Birmingham 2022) was awesome, it (100m Butterfly) was my first individual gold and it was a great relaxed environment,” said Liendo.

“It’s definitely a great meet, racing some of the best in the world and it feels like an Olympics, but more fun and I’ve heard some good things about Glasgow so I’m super excited to go and give it a shot there.”
