Duncan Scott OBE
Official Ambassador | Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games
Duncan Scott OBE is Scotland’s most decorated Commonwealth Games and Olympic athlete.
He made his Commonwealth Games debut at Glasgow 2014, winning his first medal at the age of 17 in the 4x200m freestyle relay. He went on to win six medals at Gold Coast 2018 and a further six at Birmingham 2022, becoming Scotland’s most decorated Commonwealth Games athlete.
I was incredibly lucky to swim in front of a home crowd at Glasgow 2014 and the chance to do that once again fills me with immense pride. The Glasgow crowd is legendary, and I know that they will bring an incredible energy in the pool, creating an unforgettable atmosphere for all the athletes. I’m honoured to be named a Games Ambassador for Glasgow 2026 and can’t wait to play my part in making it an unforgettable celebration of sport.
At the Olympic Games, Duncan won four medals at Tokyo 2020 - more than any other British athlete at a single Games - and became Great Britain’s most decorated swimmer. He added a gold and silver medal at Paris 2024, securing his status as Scotland’s most decorated Olympian.
Beyond the podiums, Duncan is passionate about increasing access to swimming and helping young people build confidence in the water. He is recognised as a role model for the next generation of athletes.
As an Official Ambassador for Glasgow 2026, Duncan represents the values of excellence, commitment, and community, supporting the promotion of the Games and inspiring participation across Scotland.
