HRH The Duke of Edinburgh Gets Set for Games Time
His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, Vice Patron of Commonwealth Sport, joined Glasgow 2026 Staff and Volunteers at the Newly Opened Uniform and Accreditation Centre (UAC).
During a special visit, The Duke of Edinburgh joined staff and volunteers as he collected his own Games-time uniform.
As excitement for the Games continues to build and Glasgow prepares to welcome thousands of athletes and spectators, the Games workforce is entering the final stages of preparation and training. Staff and volunteers have begun collecting their uniforms at the UAC, located on the campus of Glasgow Caledonian University.
The Duke met with volunteers and staff, experiencing the journey all Games-time personnel undertake ahead of their roles this summer.
Earlier this year, the Glasgow 2026 volunteers were officially named the ‘Legends’, a tribute to the warm, friendly spirit for which the city is renowned. Reflecting that energy, the volunteer uniform – a bright, unmistakable pink – will ensure they stand out in the crowds at Games time.
