BBC ALBA to bring Glasgow 2026 to Gaelic speaking audience across Scotland
Commonwealth Sport has confirmed BBC ALBA as part of the broadcast line-up for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, with the broadcaster delivering nightly coverage and highlights in Gaelic throughout the Games
From the Opening Ceremony on 23 July until the Closing Ceremony on 2 August, BBC ALBA will bring viewers Gaelic language coverage every evening, alongside highlights showcasing the standout performances, inspiring stories and memorable moments from across Glasgow 2026. Coverage will also be available on BBC iPlayer.
The coverage will help bring Scotland's home Commonwealth Games to audiences across the country through distinctive Gaelic broadcasting, allowing fans to follow home athletes, celebrate home success and experience the unique atmosphere that only a home Games can create.

Leading the coverage will be BBC ALBA’s expert commentary team, headed by Derek “Pluto” Murray. With his trademark insight, passion and deep knowledge of sport, he will guide viewers through the action supported by a team of experienced analysts and contributors.
