Next week, the Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony will officially kick off 10 days of world-class sporting celebration, welcoming the world to Glasgow through a creative kaleidoscope and Clyde-built journey packed full of music, humour and Scottish surprise. 

Born in Kilsyth, North Lanarkshire, Walker returns to Scotland to step in front of a home crowd alongside fellow Scottish talent and perform in the finale 

Walker joins Opening Ceremony headliner KT Tunstall in a ceremony that is set to showcase incredible Scottish talent and emerging artists to the world with Nathan Evans and Saint PHNX, Callum Beattie, Nina Nesbitt and Valtos all announced last week. 

Tom Walker, said, “I'm absolutely honoured to be part of the Opening Ceremony for the Commonwealth Games. I was born in Scotland and to be asked to perform on stage at the Hydro is always a "pinch yourself" moment for me. I'm buzzing to be back in Glasgow, always one of the best crowds to play to, they never disappoint.”  

The Ceremony will have Glasgow at the heart of the story with performances from global superstars, emerging talent and a cast of 600 volunteers from across Glasgow, Scotland and beyond.
