On the second night of the Swimming and Para Swimming programme, The Dolphins added nine medals and two Games records to extend their lead at the top of the medal table.

Sam Williamson was the story of the day as he won the Men's 100m Breaststroke gold. The 28-year-old sustained a serious knee injury in April 2025 which forced him out of the sport for 13 months.

Williamson (pictured, centre) came through on the second 50m to win the title in 59.17 seconds. Filip Nowacki took silver to secure Jersey's first Commonwealth Games medal since 1990, while Adam Ramsay-Peaty (ENG), the two-time Olympic champion in the event, was third.

"Every single day since I did the injury, I wanted to throw in the towel," Williamson, who claimed bronze at Birmingham 2022, said.

"I didn't really think I'd be able to get back on the blocks. I didn't even think I was going to be able to swim again, but I had a surgeon come in 36 hours after I did the injury and he said, 'we're going to get you back on the team and we're going to get you back for the Commonwealth Games'.

"That was all it took. That was all I really needed, because it's one thing to believe in yourself, but when you've got a team behind you that believes in you, anything's possible."

Mollie O’Callaghan showed no signs of ill-effects from her back issues as she added the Women's 200m Freestyle crown to her Olympic and world titles. The 22-year-old revealed earlier this month she had been diagnosed with spinal stress fractures and bone bruising.

O’Callaghan led throughout to win the title in one minute 54:66 with team-mate and Women's 400m Freestyle champion Lani Pallister making it an Australian one-two.

New Zealand’s Erika Fairweather overhauled England’s Freya Colbert down the final 50m to add bronze to her 400m Freestyle silver.
