Australia are incredibly highly regarded in the pool, and the first few days of swimming at Tollcross just goes to show why.

On July 24, the Australian team in the 4 x 100m Freestyle Relay set a time of 3:09.49 on July 24 with a team of Kyle Chalmers, Flynn Southam, Kai Taylor, and Harrison Turner, beating out the Commonwealth Games record set by themselves at Birmingham 2022 of 3:11.12 - though they still fall short of beating the World Record held by the United States of America, since the 2008 Beijing Olympics, at a time of 3:26.78.

The next day on July 25, the Aussie side went on to break another Games record in the Mixed 4 x 100m Freestyle Relay - clocking in a time of 3:19.36 with a team composed of Flynn Southam, Kyle Chalmers, Shayna Jack and Meg Harris. They beat out the previous record, also held by the Australians, of 3:21.18 set at Birmingham 2022. Though they've yet to catch up with the World Record set by the American's at 3:18.48 at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

They broke a final relay record in the Men's 4 x 200m Freestyle Relay with a time of 7:01.47 and a team compromised of Harrison Turner, Kai Taylor, Sam Short and Ed Sommerville, beating out their own record again at Birmingham 2022 that sat at 7:04.96. The aussies once more fall short of catching up to the American World Record standard of 6:58.55.
