Ellard has continued his success at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, competing for Team England for the first time where he claimed gold in the men’s 200m freestyle S14 with a Games record time of 1:51.66 on July 25.
 
The previous record was held by Canada's Nicholas Bennett from Birmingham 2022 with a time of 1:54.97. Ellard now holds all four major international titles.
 
Ellard born in Suffolk rose to international prominence at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, where he won gold in the 200m freestyle, set a world record, and helped Great Britain secure relay gold, establishing himself among the sport’s elite competitors. 
 
 
 
The 20-year-old said: "I've completed it all now. European, worlds, Commonwealth, Paralympics now. I'd like to try and do it three times in my career – maybe four, I don't know. You never know in s14's who will come up."
