World Junior Champion Charlotte Simoneau won Canada’s second gold of the day in the women’s 69kg. She had dominated throughout and secured top spot when she lifted 132kg in the clean and jerk.

In doing so, she pushed India’s Harjinder Kaur into silver position, while Australia’s Nya Phebe Hayman claimed bronze, all while claiming a Commonwealth Games record across three distinctions: Clean & Jerk, Snatch, and Total.

In the Women's 69kg Snatch category, she lifted 108kg - beating out the established record at the Commonwealth Games of 98kg, but remains 2kg behind her established Commonwealth Record of 110kg that she established in 2025.

Also in the Women's 69kg Clean & Jerk, Simoneau lifted 132kg beating out the established record of 124kg and her own Commonwealth Record of 131kg, but remains behind the world record set at 151kg.
