18-year-old Seine Stowers has broken three youth world records, in the Women's 77kg. A gold medallist at the Commonwealth Youth Championships in 2025, setting youth records in the snatch and combined total. Stowers is the younger sister of Feagaiga Stowers who secured Weightlifting gold at Gold Coast 2018 and silver at Birmingham 2022.

She followed that with a combined lift of 254kg at the 2026 Oceania Championships, establishing herself as one of the leading contenders in Glasgow. Stowers kept up her family’s proud history at the Commonwealth Games when she won gold in the Women’s 77kg. 

England’s Isabella Brown and Wales’ Laura Hughes led the chase, and while Stowers failed at 133kg with her final lift, she had done enough to win gold, with Brown claiming silver and Hughes bronze. 

“It’s exciting, this is my first Commonwealth Games, and I believed in myself,” Stowers said. “Before the Commonwealth Games my sister told me about her first Commonwealth Games, and that was good advice.”

In Total, Seine Stowers lifted 237kg in the Women's 77kg, beating out the established Games record of 234, but behind her own Commonwealth Record of 254, and behind still on the World Record, which stands at 278kg.

In Snatch, Stowers lifted 107kg, beating out the established Games record of 103kg, but remains behind the Commonwealth record of 116kg, and the world record which stands at 123kg.
