Eileen Floanna Maria Cikamatana won gold, her third in consecutive Games. The Australian bided her time and then took top spot with 136kg on her first clean and jerk attempt at the SEC Armadillo. Canada’s Rose Beaudoin completed the podium with bronze. 

“The only mission I had in mind coming to this competition was winning a third gold medal, and I'm pretty happy that we did it,” Cikamatana said. “Mission accomplished."

It's an incredible result for the 26-year-old lifter, considering she lost out to bronze at the 2024 Paris Olympics by just 5kg, coming in fourth.

Cikamanta previously represented Fiji, but now lifts under the banner of Team Australia, she is the first woman in Commonwealth Games history to win a gold medal at the Games for two different countries.

In Total, Cikamatana lifted 248kg, breaking the Games record of 245kg, but falling behind her Commonwealth Record of 260kg.

In Clean & Jerk, Cikimatana lifted 140kg, breaking the Games record of 137kg, but falling behind her Commonwealth Record of 148kg.
