Malaysia’s Hafizuddin Bin Roslin Muhammad produced a history-making performance in the Men’s 88kg weightlifting competition, breaking Commonwealth Games records in both the Snatch and Total categories.
In a remarkable debut, Malaysia's Muhammad Hafizuddin Roslin clinched the gold medal in the men's 88kg weightlifting category at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, lifting a record 345kg.
The triumph marked a memorable Commonwealth Games debut for the 22-year-old athlete from Perlis, who claimed the title with a combined total of 345kg at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) Armadillo on July 28.
His impressive performance included a 162kg snatch and a 183kg clean and jerk, with both lifts establishing new Commonwealth Games records and securing a historic victory for Malaysia.
This victory contributed to Malaysia's overall success, with all four of its gold medals coming from weightlifting
