Australia's track cycling star Leigh Hoffman took another medal in the men's 1000m time trial with a time of 9.361 at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow on August 1.

The multiple-time medal winner at international track cycling events, including a bronze medal at the 2024 Olympic Games was part of the Aussie Men’s Team Sprint squad who brought home a gold medal.

Hoffman was brought up in Whyalla in South Australia but moved as teenager to Adelaide to be nearer his training base at the SA Sports Institute.

In October 2025, Hoffman won a silver medal in the Keirin at the 2025 World Championships in Santiago, Chile. He also won a bronze medal in the team sprint alongside Ryan Elliott and Daniel Barber.
