Bowls success for Norfolk Island

Norfolk Island won their first medal of the Games - and third ever - as Shae Wilson (pictured right) triumphed in her Women's Singles bronze-medal match. "I've been getting messages of encouragement for a week from everyone back home," she said. "Being from such a small community, it makes it so much more special." Golden oldie Louise Hoskins (AUS) became the oldest Commonwealth Games gold medallist when she and her partner Serena Bonnell won the Para Women’s Pairs B6-B8 final. Hoskins is 76 years and 173 days old. The former record holder, Scotland's George Miller, was a mere whipper-snapper when he won gold aged 75 at Birmingham 2022.

Finucane's fourth Glasgow gold

Over at the velodrome, Wales' Emma Finucane edged a win over Ellesse Andrews of New Zealand, and Australia's Kristina Clonan to take gold in the Women's Keirin and become the first Welsh woman to win four golds at a single Commonwealth Games. There were Games records to go with their golds for England's Matthew Robertson, in the Men’s C1-C3 3000m Individual Pursuit, and Australia's Leigh Hoffman in the Men's 1000 Time Trial. It's been a stellar competition for the Australian, who goes home with three golds and one silver.

Netball gold for the Silver Ferns

The Jamaican Sunshine Girls were outclassed by New Zealand 56-48 as the Silver Ferns won the gold-medal match for the first time since 2010. New Zealand's Kate Heffernan described the win as "an amazing upgrade" after their bronze in 2022. Australia had to settle for third place after a relatively easy 68-50 win over England for the bronze. "We're going to wear this rose-gold medal like it's gold," Aussie goal keeper Courtney Bruce said.

Cyprus’ first gold of the Games

Cyprus left it to the last to claim their first gold of Glasgow 2026. The nation’s new hero is Giannis Antoniou, who beat Kayhan Ozcicek-Takagi to win the Men's +100 kg title. The Bahamas are celebrating their first Commonwealth medal in judo - a bronze for Karra Hanna in the Women’s +78kg category - as is Tonga, after Paula Monta picked up bronze in the Men’s 100+kg. It is Tonga's first Commonwealth Games medal since 2010.
