Service Overview 

Athlete Transport provides dedicated bus services between athlete hotels, training venues and competition venues. 

Double-decker buses, seating up to 70 passengers, operate on all Athlete Transport routes. The buses are accessible and can accommodate: 

• One non-transferable wheelchair; or 

• Up to six wheelchair users if passengers are able to transfer to a bus seat. 

Access to Athlete Transport is controlled by the TA code on your Games accreditation. Please ensure you have your accreditation with you when travelling, as it is required to board the service. 

Service Frequency 

Dedicated training and competition services operate every 30 minutes between the Transport Hubs and training and competition venues.

There are two city shuttle bus services available throughout the Games. For more information please see the schedules below. 

Walking and Wheeling Routes to the Competition Venues  

There is a walking and wheeling route from hotels in Zone 1 to the Scottish Event Campus.  

Along the route you will find rest benches which have been designed by local artists and will be donated to charities across Glasgow following the Games. 

A Games volunteer will be based at each Zone 1 hotel to help athletes and team officials travel between their hotel, the Games Service Centre and competition or training venues.

Accessible Transport information  

Glasgow 2026 has partnered with Allied Mobility to provide additional accessible transport support throughout the Games.  

A fleet of twenty wheelchair accessible vehicles (WAVs) will be available to support Games transport operations. These vehicles will be located at key transport hubs and competition venues and can be used when scheduled accessible bus services are full or when additional accessible transport is required.  

If you require accessible transport to or from a Competition or Training Venue, you can request this through your Games Services Centre (GSC). 

To request a journey: 

• Contact your zone's Games Services Centre through your Team Leader or Chef de Mission. 

• Let the team know about your transport requirements. 

• Provide your location (hotel), destination, and preferred pick-up, drop-off and return times. 

• Your Games Services Centre will arrange the booking and confirm once your journey has been secured. 

Sustainable Travel 

Help us deliver a Greener Games by making sustainable travel choices wherever possible: 

• Use official Games transport instead of private transfers or taxis.  

• Walk for shorter journeys where practical and enjoy some of Glasgow's green spaces while you're here.

Prohibited Items and Behaviour  

For the safety of clients, the transport of the following items will be prohibited on Glasgow 2026  

Bus System Services. 

• Bicycles not packed in a box or bespoke container. 
• Unaccompanied Competition wheelchairs.
• Large, motorised equipment.
• Firearms/ammunition (except for any authorised firearms officersin the course of 

their duties on BUS systems services). 

• Javelins
• Pole Vaults.
• Unaccompanied luggage will not be carried.
• Hot Drinks & Hot Food
