All Glasgow 2026 competition venues are equipped to provide an accessible, inclusive and welcoming environment for athletes, Team Officials and visitors. Every venue offers step-free access, accessible entrances and exits, clear wayfinding signage, and priority entry lanes for anyone who requires additional assistance, including people with hidden disabilities or sensory needs.

Hearing Support 

Hearing Induction Loops

Hearing induction loops are available at all venue Information Points.

  • Compatible with hearing aids and cochlear implants using the 'T' setting.
  • Information Point counters display the international hearing loop symbol.
  • Staff are available to assist if required.

 

Assistive Listening Devices (Hearing Augmentation)

Assistive listening devices are available at all competition venues to support live venue commentary.

  • Available from the Back of House Workforce Check-In Information Point.
  • Issued on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Includes a receiver and earpiece.
  • Must be returned before leaving the venue.
  • Staff and volunteers are available to assist with set-up.

 

Audio Support

Live Audio Description

Live Audio Description is available for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

  • Designed for blind and partially sighted users.
  • Complimentary headset and receiver available from the venue Information Point.
  • Issued on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Equipment must be returned at the end of the Ceremony.

Please note: Live Audio Description is not available during sport competition sessions.

 

Welfare and Sensory Support

Shared Welfare Spaces

Every venue provides a Shared Welfare Space within the Family Rest Area. These spaces offer a quieter environment away from busy or noisy areas and include comfortable seating, ambient lighting and curtained areas to provide additional privacy. Please note these spaces are shared with the Games workforce and are not soundproof.

Sensory Support

Complimentary sensory bags are available from venue Information Points.

Each bag will include tactile fidget items, emotion cards and noise-cancelling ear defenders.

 

Accessible Toilets and Personal Care

Accessible Toilets

Accessible toilets are available throughout every competition venue and are clearly signposted.

Changing Places Toilets

Changing Places toilets are available at every competition venue and include additional space, ceiling-mounted hoist and adult changing bench. At the Scottish Event Campus, Changing Places facilities require a RADAR key. Staff can unlock facilities for users who do not have their own key.

 

Mobility Support

Wheelchair Loan Service

Complimentary wheelchairs are available at all venues. Wheelchairs are for use around the venue and cannot be retained for the duration of the full session. Accessibility Volunteers will be available throughout the event to provide assistance where required.

Assistance Dogs

Trained Assistance Dogs are permitted throughout public areas of all venues. Each venue also provides a dedicated Assistance Dog relief area. Please note that this is shared with spectators.
