Alphamed Scotland’s practitioners are providing all medical care for athletes across the Glasgow 2026 Games. They will be wearing their uniform with the above logo.
Athlete medical services – where are they?
1.Venue Medical services
At each venue, you will have access to Athlete medical rooms and dedicated field of play medical teams for training and competition. Athlete medical rooms are for assessment and treatment of injuries and illnesses and will be clearly signposted. Please familiarise yourself with your venue layout.
2. Central Clinical Hub
The Central Clinical Hub will provide triage and limited non-emergency medical, physiotherapy, soft tissue therapy services for athletes and is replacing the previous Games Polyclinic model.
Where is it?
- 150 Howard St, Glasgow G1 4ET
The hub is centrally located, easily accessible from clinical venues and within 15 minutes distance from most team accommodation. Dedicated drop-off and pick-up spaces are available immediately in front of the Clinical Hub entrance. Transport to the Clinical Hub will be the responsibility of each CGA.
How to access appointments?
Appointments can be booked via the Clinical Hub phoneline.
Hub services can also be accessed as a walk- in, however ideally we would recommend you contact via the phone line first.
When is the Hub open?
Clinical Hub hours 20th July - 3rd August 2026
Daily hours of service: 07:00 – 23:00 GMT.
What services are available at the Hub?
Non-Emergency services only:
Primary Care (GP/nursing), Sport and Exercise Medicine (doctors), Physiotherapy, Soft tissue therapy, Radiology – onsite MSK ultrasound (daily clinics), Sports Psychology, Podiatry[NE1] [2] [NE3] , Point of care testing GI/Respiratory pathogens, Medication limited supply only
What services are not available at Hub?
- Pharmacy (small supply of meds only – private prescriptions can be written, cost for CGA)
- Dentistry (referral via hub if needed for urgent cases)
- Optician (referral via hub if needed for urgent cases)
Access to all other private providers/ imaging will be facilitated via Hub
Injury and illness – what to do if you are unwell?
Athlete unwell in hotel or other.
Contact your own CGA medical team
- Emergency – 999 (see below)
- Non – emergency Clinical Hub triage line ( 07:00- 23:00)
There will be a dedicated phone line for the Clinical Hub triage service.
You can access this via Games Services (in hotels), via your own CGA medical team or contacting the Clinical hub directly.
You will then be triaged and either – given advice, allocated an appointment at the Clinical Hub, referred to hospital.
- Non – emergency – out of hours teleservice (23:00 -07:00)
Medical Emergencies
In the case of a medical emergency which requires urgent attention, dial 999 (Equivalent to 112 in Europe, 000 in Australia or 911 in Canada / US).
This includes danger to life situations or serious injury. You can also attend the nearest Accident and Emergency Department (NHS Hospital) for further assessment and care.

Mental Health
A mental health strategy has been developed for the Games. Along with SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health) support available in team hotels via Games services. If you have any concerns regarding wellbeing or mental health please contact the Clinical Hub phoneline where your concerns will be triaged to the most appropriate support. This may include General Practitioners, Sports Medicine doctors, Sport Psychology support and Clinical psychology and Psychiatry referrals where necessary.
Medication
There is no pharmacy available at the Games. If you require medication, there will be a small supply of emergency starter medication only, both on venue and at the Clinical Hub. If you require medication the Games clinicians can issue a prescription, which you will need to take to one of a network of community pharmacies who will supply the medication with the cost paid by yourself or your CGA team.
It is vital that if you go to a pharmacy outwith the above process, that you understand the risk of getting such medication, supplements etc and should check the anti-doping status with your team medical staff and further check on Global DRO at https://www.globaldro.com/Home
Wheelchair/ prosthetics
A service will be available for athletes to access wheelchair repairs and prosthetic repairs as needed. Wheelchair repair service will be based at the SXC campus and will be available from Jul23rd until August 2nd.
