In collaboration with Team Scotland, Great Athletes is offering primary schools across Scotland the chance to welcome a top Scottish athlete for an energetic, inspiring and truly memorable visit to their school. This is a unique opportunity for children to meet a sportsperson, who is performing or has performed at the highest level and to hear all about what it means to prepare and compete for their country at a major Games.
During their visit to the school, athletes will lead fun, active sessions that encourage children to move and build confidence, all while hearing inspirational stories from the athlete on what it means to compete for Team Scotland and their journey of how they have got to where they are now.
Each of these visits are delivered by Great Athletes, an organisation who work alongside a dynamic group of current, former and aspiring Team Scotland athletes who are passionate about motivating the next generation. This is part of the wider Glasgow 2026 ‘All In’ programme of events, activities and projects led by groups and organisations across Scotland.
Give your learners a moment they’ll never forget and help them feel part of the journey to Glasgow 2026.
This programme is led and delivered by Great Athletes. The wider schools programme will be delivered by the Glasgow 2026 Organising Company in partnership with local authorities across Scotland. All enquiries regarding a Great Athletes visit must be submitted through their own website and booking process. Glasgow 2026 is not responsible or liable for these visits.

Structure of a Great Athletes school visit
Fun fitness circuit – Each class takes part in a series of fun exercises alongside their Great Athlete. Spotty dogs, star jumps, music playing, classmates cheering along; the pupils are exercising with smiles on their faces.
Inspirational assembly – Learning about the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, as well as the growth mindset and resilience of the Great Athlete: the whole room is captivated listening to the athlete's story as they talk about their journey.
Q&A – An opportunity for children to bring their questions to the athlete. How many hours a day do you train? What’s your favourite place you have ever competed? Are athletes allowed ice cream?
