People really do make Glasgow and our volunteers will be the heartbeat of our Games.  

This is your chance to be a part of history and be part of something unforgettable. An opportunity to gather in Glasgow once again and to help us pioneer, shape and craft an all-new version of The Games paving the way for a new era of major sporting events.  We are looking for over 3,000 enthusiastic, diverse and motivated individuals to help deliver 11 incredible days of action, which will celebrate the best of Commonwealth Games sport.  

A host of different roles are available to those who wish to be involved ahead of, as well as during Glasgow 2026.

Becoming a volunteer is an incredibly rewarding experience, and you can explore the different stages of becoming a volunteer below. When applications open on 16 September, UK nationals will need one of the following items of valid documentation to confirm eligibility to volunteer in line with UK immigration laws.

  • Passport (required for non-UK nationals)
  • UK Drivers licence (photocard)
  • CitizenCard
  • Young Scot Card
  • Biometric Card*
  • Biometric Residence Permit*
  • For those with no photo identification: UK Birth certificate or UK paper driver's licence
