The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager, Spectator Experience to join our Games Experience Division.
In this role, you will support the Spectator Experience Senior Manager in designing, coordinating and delivering an outstanding end-to-end journey for everyone attending the Games – from ticketed spectators to casual city visitors.
You will help ensure that every touchpoint, from arrival in Glasgow and travel along spectator routes to venue entry and final departure, reflects the spirit and brand promise of Glasgow 2026. Your work will help create a safe, inclusive and memorable experience that celebrates the city, encourages participation and leaves a lasting positive impression of the Games.
Job Summary:
Working as part of a collaborative, fast-paced team, you will play a visible and hands-on role in shaping how spectators experience Glasgow 2026, supporting the development and delivery of the Games-wide Spectator Experience (SPE) Strategy aligned to the vision of an Altogether Brilliant Games.
You will help bring the spectator journey to life, contributing to the planning and enhancement of every stage – from arrival in the city and movement along spectator routes, to wayfinding, queueing, venue entry, engagement and departure. Your work will help define the look, feel and functionality of key spectator environments, ensuring they are welcoming, intuitive and reflective of both Games and city branding.
Working closely with functional areas across the Organising Committee and with external partners including transport providers, city partners, Police Scotland and venue teams, you will help ensure the Spectator Experience is fully integrated with wider Zone Ex and city activation strategies. This is a role where collaboration is key and where you’ll see your ideas translated into real, on-the-ground experiences enjoyed by thousands of people.
Flexibility is essential in this role, particularly in the lead-up to and during Games-time, when evening and weekend working will be required.
Key Skills and Experience:
We’re looking for someone who is motivated by creating brilliant spectator experiences and who brings experience supporting event operations, spectator services or experience delivery in a large-scale, multi-venue or city-wide environment. A background in people-focused roles, with a clear commitment to delivering welcoming and well-organised experiences, is essential.
An understanding of how spectators move through cities and venues is important, including experience contributing to route planning, wayfinding, transport interfaces, crowd flow or public realm environments. Knowledge of inclusion, accessibility and sustainability principles, and how these translate into practical delivery, will be key to success in the role.
Strong collaboration skills are essential, with the ability to work confidently across teams and alongside external partners to support joined-up planning and delivery. Experience supporting live operations, test events or readiness activities in fast-paced environments would be welcomed, as would exposure to workforce or volunteer coordination.
Organisation and attention to detail are important, along with confidence using Microsoft Office to manage information and priorities effectively. Experience using Smartsheet or similar project management tools is desirable, but not essential.
