The Role  

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Manager, Hosted Events to join our Strategic Partnerships team and play a key role in delivering the Glasgow 2026 hosted events programme. 

Working closely with the Senior Manager, Hosted Events, you will help bring to life a programme of high-profile events and curated experiences for national and international stakeholders, government representatives and VIP guests. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to how Glasgow and Scotland are showcased on the global stage. 

Job Summary:  

As Manager, Hosted Events, you will play a key role in delivering Glasgow 2026’s hosted events programme, creating high-impact experiences for national and international stakeholders, partners and VIP guests. Working across partnerships and operations, you will bring together a dynamic programme of receptions, showcases and sport experiences that showcase the very best of Glasgow and Scotland. 

Through strong planning and coordination, you will ensure every event and guest journey is seamless, aligned and delivered to the highest standard. Close collaboration with teams across the organisation, alongside government and partner stakeholders, will be essential to delivering a fully integrated and memorable experience. 

Taking ownership of day-to-day delivery, you will manage key venues, oversee guest engagement and support team delivery, while maintaining a sharp focus on detail, governance and Games readiness in a fast-paced environment. 

Key Skills and Experience:   

To succeed in this role, you will bring proven experience in event management within a fast-paced and complex environment, with the ability to deliver high-profile programmes to an exceptional standard. Experience working with partners, stakeholders and VIP audiences will be essential, alongside the confidence to manage relationships and coordinate activity across a wide range of contributors. 

Strong communication skills will enable you to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, while a highly organised and structured approach will support the management of multiple priorities and detailed delivery plans. Experience working across integrated operational functions such as venues, transport, accreditation or ceremonies will be important, ensuring you can contribute to a seamless and coordinated Games-time operation. 

You will also bring experience of managing or supporting team members, demonstrating the ability to lead with clarity and foster a collaborative and positive working environment. Experience of delivering within major events, sporting events or large-scale programmes would be advantageous, particularly within environments that require pace, precision and adaptability.

Salary:   Starting salary is from £46,350. Salary offered will be based on demonstrated skills and experience related to this role.
