About Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome and Arena
Named after the 11-time world champion, six-time Olympic champion and two-time Commonwealth Champion, The Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome and Arena is located in Dalmarnock in the East End of Glasgow.
The facility opened in October 2012 and was purpose built for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
The Arena is a flexible multi-purpose facility which has been adapted for a variety of sport fields of play and played host to the Badminton competition at Glasgow 2014.
Getting to Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome and Arena
The nearest train station is Dalmarnock which is a 10-minute walk to the venue and a seven-minute journey from Glasgow Central lower level.
The venue is on good walking/cycling routes from the city centre taking approximately 45 minutes.
