As part of the Glasgow 2026 Festival, Merchant City Festival will return and is expected to attract thousands of visitors between 24 July and 2 August, with weekends being busiest.

Activity will be centred around Merchant City streets, with performances, markets and programmed entertainment. There will also be a large screen and stage in Candleriggs Square. The area will be significantly busier than usual, especially during weekends. While traffic restrictions are required to support safe operations, residents and businesses will continue to have access to their homes and essential services will continue throughout.
